Shake What Your Mama Gave You!


Hello Fabulous Felines!
I hope you all had a foxy week and weekend and have been getting down and dirty with your fitness new years resolutions. This week we’re going to take a quote from a pop-sensation and run with it…well dance with it ;). The one and only Lady Gaga once sang “Just dance, gunna be okay” and that’s exactly what we are going to be thinking about all week.

Dancing is a fun way to shred the pounds and to get your heart racing. Dancing and jumping around are both forms of plyometrics. According to the websters dictionary, plyometrics is: "an exercise involving repeated rapid stretching and contracting of muscles (as by jumping and rebounding) to increase muscle power". Are you sick of the same old cardio routine? Why not just throw on your dancing shoes and go to work?

I want you to try it right now…. Yes, I mean right now. Get of your booty and follow this simple guide to shaking what your mama gave ya! (We can’t let a good thing go to waste, now can we sugarlips?)
In just four simple steps we’re going to get your heart of gold pumping and your feet a-stepping.
Ready? Here we go!

Step 1:
Press play on the YouTube video posted below of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance”
 
Step 2:
Hands on your sweet-honey hips

Step 3:
Shake your honey hips left to right
- start things off a little slowly, but be prepared to get divalicious!

Step 4:
You do the rest. Shake it, you hot thang!
- try to incorporate high knees, jumping-jacks, burpies, lunges, and other plyometrics that you can think of while getting your groove on

Keep on dancing until the whole song is finished and then put on a few other songs that you can rock out too and get a full cardio workout. You will be surprised at how great you feel! You’ll be able to work every part of your foxy figure and get it into shape in a fun way. Make this your workout routine one day a week. It's fun, there is no pressure to do things right, and you can let loose!

New Year, New You!


Hello Foxy Honeys!

Here we are, January 18th, 2012 and your new years resolutions are all set out and in action. One of the main new years resolution that many woman decide on is to stick to a regular workout routine and drop a few pounds. If you’re one of those women then you have come to the right place! Us ladies are usually able to hit the gym hard and stay on a routine for the first few weeks or even months but somehow our busy social lives, shopping trips, and chats with our friends become oh-so important that fitting in a cardio session seems almost impossible. Do not fret damsels, you are not alone is this difficult journey to getting and staying fit. Together we can ditch the flab and become foxy and fab! I’ll be giving you tips on new moves, new grooves and most importantly, helping you realize that you rock! Now let’s get this show on the road. Here are a few tip to help you become a foxy lady and to keep your new years resolution alive!
 
Tip One:
Put on something that you can strut your stuff in while lifting weights or on the treadmill. If you like everything to be tight then work it girl, but if you want your outfit to be loose, then work that too! This is about YOU and no one else. So make yourself comfortable. If you’re worried about having sweat marks, stay away from light colours, but who cares? You’re rocking out and getting fit so sweat marks are a good sign! For this diva, and maybe for you too, the hardest part is putting on the workout attire but it’s the first step to getting our butts into gear and into shape! .


Tip Two:

Make sure that you stay on your routine. Try hard not to skip your workout days. Staying on a strict schedule will help make things easier. It will become a way of life for you and you won’t even have to think twice about it. Just like with any habit, breaking it or starting it is hard so you have to just do it! Like, Nike says, “Just Do It!” You will never regret getting physical, but you will regret if you don’t! When you feel like slacking a bit, remember how good you felt when you weren't slacking. Be your own motivator.  


Tip Three:

Have a workout pal. Get your honeys to come to the gym with you, do a class, or go for a walk. This way you are being the social butterfly you want to be, while getting fit. Also, you babes can help each other!

Tip Four:

Start a journal about what you want to accomplish. Maybe you feel your muffin top has been in the “oven” a bit too long, or maybe you think you’re starting to form another chin, or maybe you just want to feel better. You’re working out for a reason so whatever that reason is, write it down and keep track of your progress.
